On the weekend of May 25-26 tattoo fans will gather on the Municipal Stadium in Wrocław at the 29th edition of Tattoo Konwent. During the convention which makes part of an all-Poland cycle, more than 300 tattoo artists will work and display their art in 11 contest categories. The legendary punk rock group Dezerter will play, supported by the street punk band Zbeer. Among many additional attractions there will be alternative performances, exhibitions and themed zones related to such spheres as fashion or motorization. All of this year’s editions of Tattoo Konwent are organized under the new heading “Other art dimensions”.
This will be the eight time for the all-Poland festival of tattoo art Tattoo Konwent to be hosted in Wrocław, but the upcoming edition will be the first one to take place at the Wrocław Municipal Stadium. The new venue will bring about, among other things, a greater number of exhibitors. The event will have over 300 tattoo artists working in various styles. They will enroll their works into 11 contest categories. The tattoos presented by models on the main stage will be evaluated by the Jury. What’s new is that the members of the jury will change. The members of the jury on the first day will be: Mariusz Romanowicz, Asia Zielińska and Darek Doktór, changed on the second day by: Vincent Bloodline, Karol Krawczyk and one more tattoo artist, whose name is yet to be revealed.
Wrocław Tattoo Konwent will also have an open seminar for those who have already started their own adventure with tattooing. Lectures named “The many faces of realism” will be conducted by Joanna Fąferko from Black Pearl Tattoo.
Among other tattoo-related attractions there will also be an event called “Dziarka w ciemno” (Ink in the Dark), where a tattoo artist seated behind a curtain will create a surprise tattoo on the body of a participant. The tattooed person will only see the work after it's done.
Music, alternative performance, and technology
Concerts will take place on the festival stage on Saturday evening. The biggest music star of the festival will be the legendary punk rock group Dezerter. Right before them, the band Zbeer will play, representing the street punk stage. During the day the public will see performances by two female artists specializing in alternative performance. Rebecca Crow will show a modern burlesque, playing characters including that of Harley Quinn, known from the Batman series. Nikita Klosewood, on the other hand, will present a varied repertoire, including: Alice in Wonderland, Fetish Catwoman, and Fetish Geisha. The performances of both ladies are reserved for adults only. But everybody can see the visual presentation entitled INK3D — an original mapping telling the story of tattoo. During the show the spectators will get to know not only the history of tattoo art, but also the various styles of tattooing and important social contexts of body art.
Zones, exhibitions and other attractions
The venues of Tattoo Konwent always feature themed zones. The classic Hotball zone will not be missing, featuring old school motorbikes and other vehicles, as well as unusual artworks. Children will have a great time in an animation zone and in workshops, and those who love shopping will have a fashion zone waiting for them. Visitors will satisfy their hunger and thirst in food trucks waiting in the food zone. Last year’s Wrocław edition initiated the action called “Zrób Portret u Watemborskiego” (Make a portrait at Watemborski's). This time visitors will have another chance to have their photograph taken by the Wrocław-based portrait artist. But there are more photography-related attractions. In the venues of the Municipal Stadium in Wrocław Kamila Burzymowska’s exhibition “Beauty Behind the Ink” will be presented, as well as “2081”, an exhibition by Aga Szuścik — scriptwriter and director of the original INK3D mapping. The convention will also display the amazing paintings by Kuba Kujawa - tattoo artist from Tattoo.pl.

Cheaper tickets to Wrocław Tattoo Konwent are now on sale online. Online ticket prices start from 39 PLN (one day admission) and 49 PLN (two-day admission).
