On 24-25 March the biggest Polish cycle of festivals related to the art of tattoo takes place in Poznań. The 24th edition of Tattoo Konwent will see the arrival of more than 300 tattoo artists from Poland and abroad. The event’s extended programme includes hardcore and electronic music concerts, aerial, acrobatics and fire shows. Among its other attractions are exhibitions, workshops and many more interesting activities, including those addressed to the youngest participants.
Tattoo Konwent is a tattoo and music festival that is growing in popularity. The four events organised last year saw a total of 26 thousand people attending. At present, the event is organised in 4 cities in Poland, and this year the cycle begins in Poznań on 24-25 March. Subsequent festivals will be held in Wrocław (26-27 May), Gdańsk (28-29 July) and Katowice (15-16 September). The event gives us the opportunity to meet various people, not only those associated with the tattoo industry. The objective of Tattoo Konwent is to create a positive image of this art in Poland. Following the idea of Tattoo Konwent 2018, the organisers will also be donating PLN 1 for every ticket sold to the SOS Wioski Dziecięce (SOS Children’s Villages) association, which works for the benefit of children who have been abandoned, orphaned or at risk of losing parental care. Money will be also raised through applications for the best tattoo contests.
This edition sees work being evaluated in 11 categories, with a jury composed of: Łukasz „Smyku” Siemieniewicz, Jarek “Goraj” Gorajek, Aleksandra Kozubska and Sławomir Nitschke. More than 300 tattoo artists plan to create their works in the exhibition zone.
The event’s programme includes a great many attractions related to the art of tattoo, such as the premiere of the INKthat app, intended to make it easier to find a tattoo artist that meets our criteria, as well as for the artists to find new customers. The event sees the return of “Blind Tat” based on the “Blind Date” formula, where the tattoo artist freely chooses the pattern to make on the participant’s skin, who only gets to see what this is after the artist finishes their work.
The Poznań Tattoo Konwent has many additional fun events in store for everyone who participates – from special zones to music concerts and shows. Hardcore bands, Hidden World and Torn Shore will be giving concerts next to representatives from the club scene: Queenz of Steel, Lua Preta, Lux Familiar, PZG, Auricom and Przybysz. The organisers expect attendance levels to be similar to last year’s, which reached nine thousand people in Poznań.
